I read this when I was a kid, and I loved the pictures and the idea of having a flock of birds flying me around the universe. Now that I'm older, I'm glad to say that I still love this book and that my love for this book has deepened and matured with age.
My favorite scene (among many beautiful scenes) was when the tamed fox bade farewell to the Little Prince. It nearly broke my heart, even though I couldn't understand why. There's a painful sweetness to this book and a wistful sort of truth to all the observations in it. There are so many wonderful quotes about what matters, or how people grow up, which you can come away with from this book. It is full of heart and an aching sort of simplicity that strikes you where you least expect it and burrows its way in so deep that it can never leave.
